As i didn’t know what will be the best way to start my blog, i decided to show you some amazing place, that i have visited to. The Island “Koh Yao Yai” This Island is eastern from Phuket in the Bay of Phang Nga. Despite it is close to Phuket, this island officially belongs province Phang Nga and not Phuket.

Koh Yao Yai is the biggest Island in this Yao Islandgroup. At this Island are living around 15000 Muslim residents. This residents are mainly fisherman, but are also living from Rubber and palm trees.

At Koh Yao Yai the Accommodations are still a little, which makes this Island to a real little secret. There are a view small Bungalows and this larger, more expensive Resort, where we stayed. The video above was taken from our room. It’s just stunning.

We stayed at this Resort in March during my birthday for one night and really enjoyed it there. The price for the room was quite ok, because March is already the Low Season. But the weather in March is still perfect.

The only thing what we didn’t like was the prices at the restaurant at this Resort. In my eyes it is overpriced for Thailand. But if you just walk a few meters at the beach, you can find another restaurant, with very nice food and cheaper prices.

How you get there?

You can go there by boats from Phuket, Phang Nga and Krabi. From Phuket Speedboats are leaving daily from Bang Rong Pier. Starting from 07.30 am and then every 90 minutes till 05.00 pm. My experience shows me, that this times are vary many times. So please check again. Location of Bang Rong Pier

When you arriving at Koh Yao Yai there are waiting a few taxis and you can also rent a motorbike over there. If you want to explore the Island, the motorbikes are the best choice. We took a privat Longtailboat from Bang Rong Pier. The reason was, that this privat Longtailboat will bring you directly to the Pier of the Hotel. The main pier, where the speedboats stopping is quite far from this Resort. And as we want to stay just one night, we choose this way. The next morning the Longtailboat come again and pick you up at the Hotelpier. The price was 2000 THB go and back for 4 Person.
